Divine Dreams and Human Comedy in Dante's Poetry
Professor Valerio Cappozzo (University of Mississippi) will lecture on the transmission of medieval and humanist dream dictionaries. These books can provide a gateway to explore many aspects of the ancient imaginary in action. Such materials, used by Dante to compose his dreams in the Purgatory, can help to advance our knowledge of medieval and early modern creativity in relation to the interlinked worlds of imagination and reality.
