About the Sound Calendar for the Year 2018: We are deeply moved by looking at beautiful photographs and conversely a destroyed environment landscape causes us a pain and raises our desire for a better living environment. Environmental sound may emotionally impact us in a similar fashion. Jin Hi encourages us to pay attention to environmental sound daily, monthly, yearly, so that our perception of the living soundscape is a reflection of our human living space and a discovery of profound living environment. Sound Calendar of the Year is a sonic documentation that juxtaposes existing sounds created by both nature and human behavior. Jin Hi will present sound examples and sound mixes hovering between scientific and artistic collaboration of the environmental sounds that had been collected throughout 2018. Her artistic vision encourages and inspires people to contemplate both the current ecological devastation but also to enjoy the profound beauty of the sonic environment.
