 This event, which has been organized by the African American Studies Department and the Center for African American Studies, will bring together the following scholars in the form of a virtual salon: Chelsea Mikael Frazier (Cornell University); Danielle Purifoy (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill); J.T. Roane (Arizona State University); Celeste Henery (University of Texas at Austin); Romy Opperman (The New School for Social Research); Allison Puglisi (Harvard University); Teona Williams (Yale University); and Christy Hyman (University of Nebraska at Lincoln). The salon is co-sponsored by the Science in Society Program, the Black History Month Committee, and Ujamaa (Wesleyan’s Black Student Union). It is free and open to the public.
