Careers in in the Music Industry with Pete Ganbarg '88 Executive VP of A&R for Atlantic Records

Pete Ganbarg ’88 is a Grammy Award winning record producer and music business executive who currently serves as President, A&R (Artists & Repertoire) - the division of the record label responsible for signing and discovering new talent - for Atlantic Records.  Pete has been doing major-label A&R, signing and discovering artists, since he graduated from Wesleyan.
Pete will share his unique insight into both the creative and business sides of the music industry and stories from his career in the music business. Throughout his career, Pete has worked with artists including Santana, Twenty One Pilots, Christina Perri, Train, Donna Summer, Run DMC and Kelly Clarkson. He has also produced or A&R’d the soundtrack albums and Broadway cast recordings for Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansenand The Greatest Showman.
A few years ago, Pete established the Ganbarg Internship Program, an endowed fund that provides grant funding to encourage and enable Wesleyan students to explore careers in music. It is Pete’s hope that this annual grant opportunity will help launch the next generation of leaders in the industry who will push the boundaries of exciting and innovative music from both the creative and business perspectives.
At this event, Pete will also explain more about the Ganbarg Internship Program and what applicants can expect if they receive the grant.
